LEDs
Four sets of red, amber and green LEDs for traffic light labs and
other applications. Also a power on LED.
Switches
2 push button switches.
USB Interface
One FT232RQ based interface. With driver appears as a serial port to use with HyperTerminal etc.. Board can be powered from the USB cable alone. When connected to a host PC or laptop a 48Mhz clock is available from the FT232RQ. This can also be configured using software available from FTDITM
I/O Headers
Three headers each supporting 20 I/O plus 3.3V and Gnd (0V). IDC headers facilitating use of ribbon cable. All 3 headers aligned on 0.1 inch / 2.54mm grid allowing mounting into strip-board and other prototype systems.
Oscillator Socket
Oscillator socket supporting 3.3V oscillators in 8 pin DIL (half
size) format. FT232 USB chip can also provide clock if suitably
programmed.

Taxes and Duties
For the UK we will apply 17.5% VAT to goods and courier charges.
For non-UK EEC countries we will apply 17.5% VAT to goods and courier charges unless you can supply a VAT number, with registration details, that we can verify. If we can not fully verify your VAT details then VAT will be applied at 17.5%. The application of zero rate VAT to a shipment will be at our discretion under advice from UK Customs and Excise. If items are shipped at zero rate VAT you will responsible for accounting for VAT to your local authorities. No other duties or taxes should apply to products shipped to the EEC countries.
USA - We believe that Polmaddie1 will not attract duty or MFP (manufactured foreign product) fee of US $2 for a single board. The postal service or courier may charge handling if there is a collection of such a fee. This is our understanding of the rules but you should make you own enquires to confirm this. Please give us feedback if you can confirm or add to this understanding.
For other countries duties and taxes do vary.
Applying duties and taxes may be collected by the courier,
or postal service, from you upon delivery. Please check with
your local authorities if you are unsure of rates. We will add
more information as we find it out on other countries.
Derivative, Turnkey Designs and Licensing
We are happy to offer derivative designs of Polmaddie5, or
expansion modules, to customers with special requirements. We can also
license this board, or a derivative, for your own manufacture. Please
ask for a quote if you are interested in these services or products.
