OVERCOAT options on our development allow the build up of arrays of our development boards to generate arrays of FPGAs either in serial operation, parallel operation or even a mixture of serial and parallel operation. The pictures above show an array of Raggedstone1 boards but we can supply this special build on all our Broaddown and Hollybush products.

The Raggedstone1 shown above can have up to116 I/Os interconnecting the boards in the configuration shown above. By selective missing or fitting pins on spacing header paths can be broken or made to achieve the structure required. The length of a serial chain is only limited by you number of boards you have and power supplies, or slots if using a motherboard like above. Parallel chain lengths are principally determined by the speed of operation and the signalling structure used.
