PCI Core FAQ

Enterpoint's PCI Core 33MHz 32Bit is available in several versions ranging from target only to full initiator functionality. The full version of the core can support up to 6 BARs individually mapped in size and space type (I/O or Memory).

Standard Xilinx versions are a native bridge between PCI and OPB buses allowing a modular-type approach to generating custom designs from existing IP. With pre-prepared IP custom designs can be connected together generated in minutes using the OPB bus structure.

The core varies in size depending on configuration. It is very small compared to competing solutions with similar functionality.

Will fit into devices as small as Spartan-3E XC3S100E.

Highly flexible pin out. Pin out your PCB for cost not for the core requirements. We can offer PCB consultancy for layout optimisation or even complete PCB design services for turnkey hardware.

Cardbus support is available.

Netlist and VHDL licensing is available.

Low cost, low usage, licensing available.

Pre-programmed stand alone chip versions will be available for ultra low usage cases. Pay for the chip not the IP.

Can be made available for alternate internal bus structures to OPB.

Versions for alternate FPGA and ASIC solutions can be generated upon request.

Integration and consultancy services available from Enterpoint.

Core is designed and supported from the United Kingdom. US Export Administration Regulations (EAR) do not apply to this core.

Size

Typically size is 800 slices in Xilinx architectures. More details on various configurations coming shortly.

License Cost

Netlist form for Xilinx devices - From GBP £750 to GBP£ 3,000.

Option1 - Target only, netlist form, single project, max 500 units per annum, one year usage license (maintenance license fee due on yearly basis after 1st year) GBP£ 750
